Mimicry Series – Flying Circus

Fläche, Wahrnehmung und Mimikry. Ein Sitzmöbel in limitierter Auflage, gefaltet aus Blech. Die Wahrnehmung des Körpers ändert sich je nach der Perspektive. Die Materialeigenschaften, also das Biegen, Merkmal von Metall bildet die Grundlage der Form. Die Lackierung suggeriert mehr als das Material bereit ist zu leisten. Es entstehen so neue optische Eindrücke.
Sven Borger entwickelte die “Nachahmung eines Sitzmöbels ohne Lehne” aus der Faszination der Malerei von Edward Wadsworth, der Verquickung von Kunst und Krieg.

Mimicry, surface and perception
A seating furniture in limited edition, folded metal plates. The perception of the body changes depending on a perspective. The characteristics of the form through bending the material into angles creates the design. The lacquered finishing suggests a different material. New optical impressions appear. The “Copy of a seating furniture without back” was inspired by the paintings of Edward Wadsworth.
